Gift Sets

GS20 The Golden Guinea Set

So-called because it sold for 21/- and had three of the then current models specially produced in a gold plated finish. An odd group, the Bentley Continental, Ford Consul Classic and Chevrolet Corvair, displayed in the box with their bonnets or boots open. The Ford and Chevrolet had to have special interiors made in red for just this set. Only 23000 were sold, maiing this an extremely scarce set and the individual models rank very highly in the Top 10 scsarcest Corgis. I am trying to find a box now but each model is also available individually.

GS40 The Avengers

I have several Gift sets available. Each has original chracters and models but reproduction boxes and inner display. This one has a silver-blue Lotus - not issued in the original GS40 but a more representative colour for what Emma actually drove in the second (colour) TV series.

Gift Set 38 1965 Monte Carlo Rally Set

Only available for a little less than a year from March 1965, this Gift Set features really nice editions of the 321 Morris Mini Cooper S, 322 Rover 2000 and 323 Citroen DS19. The box is a reproduction but, in original packaging these sell for about £2000. An opportunity here to get something attractive to display at a reasonable price.

Gift Set 2 Land Rover and Pony Trailer

The Gift Set was one of only two places you could have found the green 406 Land Rover and the only place with a tan tin canopy. This is the first type of Gift Set with the red 102 pony trailer.

Gift Set 2 Land Rover and Pony Trailer

The Gift Set was one of only two places you could have found the green 406 Land Rover and the only place with a tan tin canopy (missing here!) This is the first type of Gift Set with the less common cream 102 pony trailer.

GS10 Mack Tank Transporter with Centurion Tanker

A late Gift Set, issued in 1973 and staying around until 1978. Although this period saw some dreadful models, this is one of the really nice ones. The Mack truck unit pulls a machinery carrier that you may recognise. It is essentially identical to 1104, 1131 and 1135, with even the same removable rear axle. A slightly odd-looking screw joins the two and there is now no winch or spare tyre capstan but otherwise it’s the same item. Both items immaculate.

Gift Set 37 Lotus Racing Team

The truck, cars and trailer are all excellent. The inner tray is like new with no discolouration of the polystyrene and the box is really nice. The only faults are the two tears in the top of the box. This is very, very good example of this set in complete totally original form.

Gift Set 47 Ford 5000 Super Major with Conveyor

This is a rare item, issued in 1966 and, despite staying in the catalogue until 1971, it is difficult to find now in original form and especially with a nice original box. The tractor is the familiar Ford 5000 and this one has a chrome exhaust and fittings. Some are grey plastic. The conveyor is also familiar from the device that was fitted to a Jeep FC-150. The rubber belt has come apart but could easily be repaired or replacements are available - it is the original fitting still. Farmer George seems to have gone missing, though, as have all but one of the six sacks that should come in the box. It is, however, a super example of this set and in as new condition otherwise.

Gift Set 19 Corgi Flying Club

I think this was the final outing for the 438 Land Rover. Very late in the Corgi day, 1973 saw this set appear with a ridiculously broad trailer carrying a pudgy-looking Nipper aircraft. All Whizzwheels this. The set is complete and unmarked with an excellent box. Quite rare now, especially with all the bits.
