These are photos of the actual model available. Remember that these toys are around 50 years old! All models advertised are original, not restored or repainted unless I have stated otherwise.
Produced from May 1959 through to 1964 this is a most impressive model. Really heavy, you do feel you’re getting value for your money and that it is well up to whatever army tasks you might want to throw at it!
There are several editions: UK, Dutch and US Army. The UK and rare Dutch editions can be distinguished by the small insignia front and rear. They also have plain tin canopies.
The US Army type will have a white star on the bonnet and, possibly, also on the doors and/or on a plain canopy.
Just to complicate matters, in 1965 a second US Army version was issued! This can be identified by text along the side of the bonnet and this one has a different tin canopy. There is an indented round spot where a white star transfer is placed. On the first edition the roof is flat. The second edition was issued as 1133 but is often confused, especially when canopies can be easily switched and replacement stars are easily available and not easy to detect.
This one is a marvellous original 1118 with a US star on the bonnet and has the solid base. Some models have an open element below the rear section. (The canopy shown in the photos is from a 1133 and would to be replaced with the plain one on the UK or NL 1118 available). A very good box is also available at extra cost.
