These are photos of the actual model available. Remember that these toys are around 50 years old! All models advertised are original, not restored or repainted unless I have stated otherwise.
This is an extremely scarce item. In 1972, for a few months this model appeared on order sheets for dealers but sales were very poor. At just 19,000, sales were less than the figures quoted for the 351S RAF Land Rover, for example.
The idea was to mount the motorcycle on the red plastic base which was fitted with Whizzwheels. This could then be sent down the track being sold at the time.
Illustrated also here is a factory sample that I am also selling as part of the Wilford Collection. At first I had no idea what this model could be and even wondered whether it was a Corgi anyway, especially as they had used Britain’s tyres! I see that the issued model had the tyre text changed.
The issued model is for sale at the price shown here and offers are invited for the prototype / sample. There are also two further prototypes that did not make it into production.
