These are photos of the actual model available. Remember that these toys are around 50 years old! All models advertised are original, not restored or repainted unless I have stated otherwise.
The third E Type that Corgi produced was the 4.2 Fastback version. Everything opened and it was well-modelled and with excellent chrome features but it seemed too big somehow. For instance, you can’t put #307 and #335 next to each other. They look odd and it is this one that seems too large overall.
Maybe Corgi were getting ready for the switch to 1:36. No, not that big but odd anyway.
This was also one of the few models that came in a bubble type thing on a box and that is not something that survived being opened and certainly wasn’t likely to be saved. I certainly don’t recall the box for this at all!
In my view, blue was the best colour for this and somehow made it seems a little less ‘big’. This is a super example and spotless with almost immaculate chrome too which is rare. I omitted to photograph the base but it is perfect and the car is totally original. I’ll add a photo soon to reassure anyone.
This is one of the models that carried on to the Whizzwheels era and some even stayed red. Most were yellow and then another shade of yellow as the V12 came along.
