These are photos of the actual model available. Remember that these toys are around 50 years old! All models advertised are original, not restored or repainted unless I have stated otherwise.
A pretty decent model, apart from the wheels. Even they, however, almost suit the car, one of the very few that we could say that about!
The MkIII Ford Cortina was not exactly an attractive car at the best of times but it does work as a model, strangely enough, and Corgi added jewelled headlamps and some chrome to help this along. The ‘vinyl’ roof is excellent and the interior, whilst a bit bland is reasonable.
The lettering on the boot panel looks way too big but otherwise, despite bearing a Mazak die-cast brand on the base, this is a very good model and one of the better from this late era.
The Cortina MkIII re-appears later dressed up as a police car too. I’ll add a link when I find one.
This example is in excellent condition, virtually unmarked turquoise paintwork and just looks great.
