These are photos of the actual model available. Remember that these toys are around 50 years old! All models advertised are original, not restored or repainted unless I have stated otherwise.
The Corgi production decision-makers redeemed themselves slightly with this version of the P1800. You may well have seen that the other two colours are salmon and tuna and really don’t look too good which is a shame as it’s a smart car and a nice, if simple, model.
Here we have a slightly too red red but it’s OK. This example is in really nice condition too. It is a nice change to have solid suspension that feels like suspension should. After a few weeks with Whizzwheels and Mustangs with plastic bits giving way this is quite a delight to handle!
Apart from some tiny chips on the bonnet I can’t see anything to worry about with this one. It is excellent and even has the silver paint on the side line. That’s usually gone.
None of these #228s are numerous and certainly not in good condition as I reckon most of us paid a few pence more and had the Simon Templar one. And, understandably, that’s the one Auntie Pearl would choose in the shop at Christmas or birthday time.
