A nice new model from Corgi in the Whizzwheels range. This has the better-looking ‘red spot’ wheels and generally looks very smart.

The Pontiac was one of the very first of this era, originally intended to have Golden Jacks and the catalogue of the time promoted it as such. The ‘red spot’ wheels do, though, look OK and are about as frequently encountered as the ubiquitous plastic ones. This is definitely a good model to collect. Ther was just one colour but they did suffer from lost windscreens with precious little way of protecting it.

Apparently replacing the screen is something that can be done without taking the car apart so that’s good news for many models out there that should have a longer life than otherwise might have been the case.

Nice jewelled headlamps, good chrome detailing and a pretty gearstick complete a smart model. Had Corgi carried on along those lines then things may have been different.
