9002 is red with a hood and black running board and mudguards. It has no numbers or flag. The wheels are usually red. The 9002 would have had the unidentifiable driver wrapped in white scarves -
Many examples of 9002 also had a gold tint to the radiator and lights, quite distinct from the silver. This, though, has the silver colour.
This particular example comes from the Wilford Collection and I believe that it will have been one of the first examples from an early production run. It does not have a box but I can supply one from another I have available if required. Percy Wilford was a Chief Model Maker and his son, Robert Wilford, was responsible for later designs and colour trials. This model comes with a pack of background information signed by Ian Wilford.
The pack is currently in production and copies will be added to the gallery when they’re ready.
Other examples without provenance are available.
