An almost immaculate example of this quite scarce US Army item from that short period in the early 60s when the catalogue was pretty well stocked with American military items for some reason I have never fully understood.

One of many items using the Commer ¾ ton van casting, in this case with a fixed rear element. I suppose that’s necessary or the Red Cross stickers would have looked out of place. This model does have a slight bit of give in the rear element, though, and I did think for a moment that it might come off as the chassis appears to be painted underneath. That is not something to detract from its condition, though, which is marvellous all round. The blue lamp is clear and shiny and the windows all crisp and clean. The driver is in place (he’s been known to come adrift in some examples!) And the suspension is good and wheels shiny.

An excellent investment or item to fill that hole in a collection.
