The commercial Volkswagens were an odd bunch of models that never really seemed to be that popular or be around for long. I suppose the one exception would be the ‘Kombi’ which we now know better as the ‘Camper van’ or ‘Hippiemobile’!

The pickup is a terribly bright yellow and came with a plastic cover, usually in red but also seen in green. Mine has lost its cover as well as quite a bit of paint but the windows are clear and the suspension fine. This also has an intriguing odd wheel that is reversed. There are no signs of anyone having fiddled with it so my guess is that someone simply got it wrong in the factory. I probably won’t have bought this one if if hadn’t had this oddity - not that there are actually that many around anyway!

All the VW vans are quite scarce. The only one that survived for a longer period was the pick up in breakdown truck form.

[Now sold to a collector in the States]
