These are photos of the actual model you are buying. Remember that these toys are around 50 years old! All models advertised are original, not restored or repainted unless I have stated otherwise.
Corgi looked across The Pond and decided that the range needed something more appealing than a Morris Cowley. So number 211 went to the Studebaker Golden Hawk which has to be good on the basis of its name alone!
The early model without interior or suspension is only available in mid-blue with a gold flash on the rear fins. You may see a white one - that’ll be the M version. The gold, either paint or plated, are 211S and have seats and suspension.
This is a hard car to find in good condition now, although plenty were originally sold. In fact this is the penultimate one in my list - after a year of searching, there remain only the Mercedes 303 open top early version and odd odd things like the second Ghia Jolly.
So many have been badly playworn or scratched. This is super. The base has a rear axle ‘differential’ bulge that looks a bit like a 211M but isn’t. It is a solid base too, not tin like others around at the time.
All in all, if you need one of these, you’ll be hard pushed to find better. Just needs a nice box, that’s all. Until I find one, though, it is available at a reasonable price, bearing in mind how long it took to find!
