This is proving very difficult to find! I don’t often buy restored versions but, after well over a year of looking and not even seeing one, I thought I would get this one so we can see what it looks like.

Actually the other Andrew from Little Wheels had one that I would have bought but he sold everything on the site some years ago. That is the only real one I’ve ever seen and had I not noticed it I probably would not have thought it existed, the army version coming out as 414 could have been an acceptable ‘Type 2’ after all.

So while I carry on hoping to find an original this very impressive and immaculate restoration gets its place here. Excellent work by whoever did it with, I am advised, an original window unit so only the pant and stickers are new.

Because this could have originated as a 414, though, I cannot expect too much for it as anyone could, in theory, get one of those and do the cream repaint. Stickers are cheap. I do like the effort made to use a very convincing rivet in the base, though, which is where most restorations fall flat.
