These are photos of the actual model you are buying. Remember that these toys are around 50 years old! All models advertised are original, not restored or repainted unless I have stated otherwise.
The Citroen Safari first appeared in yellow for a truly ‘Safari’ version and then has four snowy outings, two as #475, #499 and this one. Each is a little different. This one has the red roof, Alpine Rescue on the bonnet and sides and skis and ski poles tucked into the luggage rack. In addition there is a metal toboggan, a Rescue chap and a St Bernard dog!
This model is in superb condition, beautiful unmarked paintwork and everything works with good suspension (never really a problem on this model) Original skis and poles and toboggan are present, with replacement rescue chap and St. Bernard.
This is the hard to find and terribly expensive version. I am not entirely sure why and guess that it had a short production run, coming only in 1970 to the shops and getting withdrawn soon after as everything had gone Whizzwheels by 1971. The catalogues say that 124000 were made which puts it just outside Top 20 and that is quite scarce. I think it is the box and bits that really ramp up the price.
As it is, this is a good buy, though, and many I see boxed are scratched anyway!
Some photos may not show all the pieces as I have added the rescue chap and dog later.
