The first foreign vehicle in the Corgi line-up and they picked a good one for that occasion. The Citroen DS was a remarkable car in many ways and nothing quite like anything produced in Britain. It is still regarded as a star now, over 50 years later.

The Corgi model was available in this dark metallic green with a black roof or in yellow with a red roof.

Despite its early number, it has the solid type of base rather than the tin type. I think it was the first with this type. There had been plans to have a 210M model but either the shape of the rear end doesn’t allow space for the mechanism or it seemed wrong for a front wheel drive car so it wasn’t produced. There are some bases around, though, with the M axle housing, and I have one in yellow and red.

This is in pretty good condition - the paintwork, disguises the chips - and it has clear screens and clean wheels. A nice example.

Later produced as 210S with suspension and interior but only in red. [Now sold and parked in Belgium]
