Most of the Corgi range had some appeal for me in one way or another but I have struggled to find anything about the early racing cars. They just looked so basic and lacking in much detail. Maybe there just wasn’t much detail. Anyway, here it is.

This is the Lotus in silver with no driver which was added in 1957. It is also slightly different from the 1961 151A, with a slightly changed windscreen.

This is so much nicer than the 151A I had. I can’t put my finger on why one seems so much better than the other but this silver edition is quite likeable. The paintwork is superb, not a mark anywhere, with nice clean screens and red interior. The wheels are bright and tyres mercifully sound as I have no idea how one would change them!

It has a perfect RN 3 decal on the front and I am delighted to be able to offer this for sale now the photos are in the bag.
