This was in the first launch of models in 1956 and lasted for 7 years through to 1963 which is uite remarkable when you look at what else was starting to be available in the early 1960s.

It’s a useful item to have and you could have loads ready-made to carry in the back or just use whatever bits and pieces were lying around.

This is a nice example, not perfect and certainly ‘played with’ but still sound and, of course, totally original. It is an early edition with the flat smooth hubs. The windows have survived very well and the metal hook is still in place at the back.

The small tin plate section of the base is clean and just has slight rusting but that is hardly noticeable and may, indeed, be capable of being cleaned away too.

The cream rear section is clean and not scratched, other than along the top edges. The red paint is good as is the silver work, although it seems to have worn off the headlamps and bumper.

A nice example of one of the originals from 60 years ago.
