These are photos of the actual model available. Remember that these toys are around 50 years old! All models advertised are original, not restored or repainted unless I have stated otherwise.
Produced from May 1959 through to 1964 this is a most impressive model. Really heavy, you do feel you’re getting value for your money and that it is well up to whatever army tasks you might want to throw at it!
Later, for a short period in 1965 a US Army edition was produced. This looks very similar and is often confused by sellers. The first type has insignia on the front and rear panels. The US Army type has white stars on the doors and text along the bonnet sides and no insignia.
The tin canopy on the first edition is also plain whereas the US Army one has an indented circular spot for the white star transfer. The US Army one gets a new number, 1133.
From what I have seen, the US Army edition is a darker, less glossy green too but, like what gets painted silver, there may be all sorts of variations.
I think both types of lower section - one that is open, one that is solid - will be available for each.
This one is excellent but currently lacks a canopy. Photos to come soon.
