The Longleat Land Rover appeared in Gift Set 8, issued in April 1968. It has the same ‘camouflage’ pattern as the Daktari Land Rover issued a few months earlier.

The set had a chap with a guy with a shotgun standing in a strange hole above the passenger seat. There was also a shed, a couple of lions and three chunks of meat! In the back, instead of a canopy there is a yellow cage affair and a red drum rolling around. All this enabled Corgi to make a lot more money out of this remarkably long-running model.

The Land Rover can be found with normal wheels, cast wheels and Whizzwheels, usually with a hook at the back.

This is just the Land Rover with cast wheels. It does not have the red cover for the hole in the roof or the rear elements and has some paint chips but has good screens and sound suspension. The hook is in place at the back.
