The classic American car took on a second life with this remake where Corgi seem to have sliced it horizontally and inserted a chrome slab along the middle. It works excellently, though, and brightens up this model.
The huge fins at the back are still there and you will see this model in many guises including taxis, police cars and Fire Chief cars amongst others.
The type 2 saloon only came in this strange cream and brown concoction.
This is in fantastic, unmarked condition, a really nice example that you’ll find hard to match. This has the familiar free spinning shaped wheels. I had one of these myself but none of my friends did and I didn’t realise at the time that there weren’t that many of these around. It appeared in the summer of 1965 and was gone in late 1966.
